Each year Images screens more than 100 short and feature-length
films and videos from around the world, as part of our
International Competition Program and in individual
specially curated programs. |

This year’s Live Images series includes two nights
of live soundtracks, a week-long installation/performance
at InterAccess an evening of complex film projector
performances, low-tech “manual animation”
live archival mixing. |

This year Images presents 16 installations at 13 venues,
the <PAUSE> web.net exhibition in collaboration
with MobileGaze.com and ten web-based projects curated
by Caitlin Fisher. |

Toronto’s video artist Leslie Peters has been
building a subtle and powerful body of work since she
appeared on the scene in the late 90s. Images is proud
to present a selected retrospective of her work in a
screening and concurrent installation. |

This new series extends the ideas introduced in the
2003 “Urban Space, Media & Technology”
symposium, investigating human relationships with our
natural and constructed environments. This year’s
program includes two unusual documentaries and four
gallery installations. |

Included are a talk on the relationship between the
US military and the video game industry, a discussion
about the state of video art in the Arab world and a
five-person panel taking on the subject of technology
in performance art practice. |
